چکیده

We report measurements of the full planar O nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate tensor in optimally and underdoped YBa 2Cu 3O y (y56.96 and 6.63). The anisotropy varies strongly with temperature in both samples: for the y56.63 sample, the ratio of the relaxation rate measured with the applied field in the ab plane and oriented parallel to the copper-oxygen bond axis to that measured with the applied field in the ab plane and oriented perpendicular to the bond axis changes by over 25% from room temperature to Tc . The consequences of these results for theoretical models are discussed. They suggest that a second spin degree of freedom independent of the Cu~3d x22y2) – O(2ps) band exists in the CuO 2 planes of YBa 2Cu 3O y . @S0163-1829~98!04018-1#

Spin-wave contribution to the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in triplet superconductors.

We discuss collective spin-wave excitations in triplet superconductors with an easy axis anisotropy for the order parameter. Using a microscopic model for interacting electrons, we estimate the frequency of such excitations in Bechgaard salts and ruthenate superconductors to be 1 and 20 GHz, respectively. We introduce an effective bosonic model to describe spin-wave excitations and calculate th...

Anisotropic Spin -Lattice Relaxation of Deuterated Hexamethylbenzene

The anisotropic spin-lattice relaxation of deuterated hexamethy lbenzene (HMB-d,,) was measured at -36 and 70°C. The anisotropy is due to the anisotropic sixfold reorientation of the molecule about its hexad axis, and a model is presented to explain quantitatively the anisotropy, considering only single-particle relaxation. The temperature dependence of T, was measured, and the activation energ...

EFFECT OF FINISH ROLLING TEMPERATURE ON MICROSTRUCTURE,TEXTURE AND PLANAR ANISOTROPY IN ALUMINUM ALLOY AA3004 SHEETS

AA3004 alloy is widely used in can making. The major concern in the production of canbodies is earing, which develop by high planar anisotropy of rolled sheet. Balance ofrecrystallisation and rolling textures together with a uniform and fine grain microstructure canminimize the earing. The effects of finish rolling temperature (FRT) on planar anisotropy, microstructure, texture development and m...

Nuclear spin relaxation in glassy ionic conductors

The nuclear spin relaxation behaviour in disordered ionically conducting materials is ascribed to a mechanism based on diffusion-controlled relaxation. In this targetdiffusion model, relaxation is assumed to occur at interstitialcy sites, triggered by the arrival of diffusing ions. The dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation rate on the temperature, Larmor frequency and ionic concentration ca...

Low-frequency spin dynamics in a canted antiferromagnet.

Resistively detected nuclear spin relaxation measurements in closely separated two-dimensional electron systems reveal strong low-frequency electron-spin fluctuations in the quantum Hall regime. As the temperature is decreased, the spin fluctuations, manifested by a sharp enhancement of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1, continue to grow down to the lowest temperature of 66 millikel...
